Terms & Conditions
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These terms apply to bespoke metalwork commissioned from Sajjad and Sons. Please read them before placing an order — by paying a deposit you accept them.
1. Everything is made to order
We do not hold stock. Every gate, railing, door, balcony, staircase and item of furniture is manufactured specifically for you, to your dimensions and your chosen design, after your order is confirmed. This is what allows us to build exactly what you want, and it is also why the terms below on cancellation and deposits are as they are.
2. Quotations
• Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise on the quotation.
• Quotations are based on the dimensions, design and specifications you supply. If any of that change, the price changes.
• Where material prices move significantly between quotation and order confirmation, we will tell you before proceeding rather than absorb it silently or invoice you later.
• Every quotation is prepared personally by the owner. Prices quoted verbally or in chat are indicative until issued as a written quotation.
3. Measurements are your responsibility
We manufacture to the dimensions you provide. We cannot visit your site to measure, and we do not verify your measurements independently.
Please take a measure carefully, measure at more than one point where an opening may not be square, and send photographs of the installation area. We will tell you what we need and will query anything that looks inconsistent — but the final dimensions are yours, and items manufactured correctly to dimensions that turn out to be wrong are not covered.
4. Design approval
Before manufacture begins, we will provide a visual mockup, and a CAD elevation where your order includes one. Manufacture starts only after you approve it. Please check dimensions, proportions and detail carefully at that stage — changes after approval may not be possible, and where they are, they are chargeable.
5. Payment Terms as following or otherwise agreed upon through offical quote
• Domestic (Pakistan) orders: 50% advance to begin, 40% during production, the balance on completion.
• Export orders: 50% advance to begin, 50% before shipment against shipping documents.
• Work begins when the advance is received and cleared.
• Goods remain our property until paid for in full.
• Bank charges and intermediary fees are the sender's responsibility — please ensure the full quoted amount reaches us.
6. Deposits are non-refundable
Because manufacture is bespoke, the deposit is non-refundable once work has begun. Materials are purchased and craftsmen's time is committed against your specific order, and neither can be recovered nor resold.
If you cancel before any work has started, contact us immediately and we will refund what has not already been committed to materials or labor.
7. Design packages
Mockup, CAD and full-scale design packages are chargeable, and the full amount paid is credited against your production order if you proceed. They are not an additional cost — they are the first payment toward the work.
If you do not proceed, the package fee is not refundable, as the design work has been carried out.
8. Production time and delivery
• Typical production is 8 to 12 weeks depending on the project, plus transit time for export orders.
• Timelines are estimates given honestly and in good faith, not guarantees. Bespoke forging is not a production line.
• We will keep you informed of progress and tell you promptly if a date moves.
• We are not liable for delays caused by customs inspection, port congestion, shipping line schedules, weather, or any other matter outside our control, nor for any additional inspection charges arising from them.
9. Handmade variation
Every piece is hand-forged. No two are identical, and minor variation in scrollwork, hammer marks, texture and finish is inherent to the process rather than a defect — it is the reason for choosing hand-forged work over machine production. Photographs show representative examples, and your piece will carry its own character.
10. Materials and sections
We will never use material or a section lighter or of lower value than the one quoted.
We may occasionally use a heavier section or a better-suited material than quoted — for example a 5/8 inch bar where 1/2 inch was quoted because the proportion works better at the finished size, or brass or cast aluminum in place of iron for a component where it performs better. Where we do this, there is no additional charge to you.
If during production the design or the available space makes a change to the quoted specification necessary, we will tell you before proceeding and agree with you rather than change it silently.
11. Inspection before dispatch
You inspect and approve your commission before it leaves our workshop. This is the stage at which anything can be changed, and we make it as easy as we can for you to check properly.
• We send photographs and videos throughout production and again when the piece is finished.
• You can ask for a live video call and have us walk around the piece, look at any detail closely, and measure anything you want measured while you watch.
• You are welcome to send someone to the workshop on your behalf — a friend, a relative, a contractor or a professional inspection agent — to examine the work in person before dispatch. Tell us and we will arrange access.
Please use these. Once you confirm you are happy and the piece is crated for dispatch, that approval is final.
12. After delivery
We are not responsible for the goods after delivery.
This is not a position we take lightly, and it is not about avoiding responsibility — it is about where responsibility can practically sit. Your commission is one piece, made only for you, travelling thousands of miles. Putting something right afterwards means remaking it and shipping it again, at a cost that would make bespoke work from us impossible to offer at the prices we do. So, we put the whole of our effort into getting it right before it leaves, and we give you every means to check it while it still can be changed.
The one commitment that stands after delivery is the one in clause 10: we will never have used a material or section below what was quoted. If we ever did, we would put that right.
Please inspect the crate on arrival and note any visible damage with the carrier before signing — transit damage is a claim against the carrier's insurance, and that claim depends on it being recorded at the point of delivery.
13. Delivery terms
• Pakistan: delivered and installed by our own team. Civil work, electrical work, and accommodation for the installation team where the site is outside Lahore are chargeable separately unless stated otherwise on the quotation.
• International: shipped DDP — Delivered Duty Paid, Incoterms 2020. Duties, taxes, freight and delivery to your address are included in the quoted price, with nothing to pay on arrival.
• International delivery is kerbside. The carrier delivers to your address; moving the crate into the property is not included.
• We do not install outside Pakistan. Export orders ship with an installation guide, drawings and a fixing schedule, for your own contractor to work with.
• Please inspect the crate on arrival and note any visible damage with the carrier before signing.
14. Structural engineering
Structural engineering review is available as an optional extra at additional cost, through our licensed engineering partner. It is not included as standard. Where your local authority requires certified drawings or engineering sign-off, please tell us before we quote.
Compliance with local building codes, planning permissions and safety regulations at your location remains your responsibility. We manufacture to the dimensions and specifications you supply.
15. Care and maintenance
Ironwork requires basic care. Clean with mild soap and a soft cloth. Do not use wire brushes or harsh chemicals. Touch up any chip or scratch in the finish promptly, as an unprotected mark is where corrosion begins. We supply care guidance with every order.
We do not offer a repair service for ironwork not made by us.
16. Designs and images
Designs, drawings, mockups and CAD files we produce remain our intellectual property. You are free to use them for your own project.
Where you supply a design or a reference image, you confirm you have the right to have it made. We will decline anything that appears to infringe someone else's rights.
17. Limitation of liability
Our liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, delay costs, or costs incurred by third parties such as builders or contractors.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore have jurisdiction. Where you deal with us as a consumer in another country, this does not remove protection you have under the mandatory law of your own country.
